Arab American Heritage Council awards community leaders, students at annual banquet

The Arab American Heritage Council, a National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC) member, was recently featured by MLive for its 19th annual Ensure the Legacy Dinner and Awards Banquet in Flint, Mich.

The annual event honors community leaders and student winners of scholarships. Awardees included retired U.S. Representative Dale Kildee, who won the Community Leader of the Year Award; Lawrence Moon, the founder of Moon Funeral Homes, who won the Community Contributor of the Year Award; and Dr. Reem Salman, an assistant professor of medicine in the Central Michigan University Medical School and an independent office-based physician in Owosso, who won the Physician of the Year Award.
