The Arab American Community Center (AACC) is a non-sectarian; non-partisan community based 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization established in Orlando in 1988. The AACC sponsors programs in the areas of civil rights, civic education and empowerment, business, and professional fields, youth development, and cultural outreach. It also provides assistance in health, employment, immigration and social services. The AACC has a strong network of community volunteers that implement the activities and programs of the center. The AACC also publishes a weekly newsletter, a monthly event calendar, and an annual magazine for its community members. The AACC has a full-time Executive Director and two AmeriCorps members working daily in the office. The AACC is a membership organization and currently has 13 individuals on its Board of Directors. The AACC primarily receives funding from the community although it is currently in the process of expanding and diversifying its funding sources.
