Ninth Annual Conference

Rutgers University – Newark Campus
The NNAAC National Conference is a unique opportunity for leaders and activists to build their skills, learn about resources, network and recognize the strength that they represent as an empowered community. Participants will include over 300:
- staff and board leaders of 19 member organizations in ten states and the District of Columbia;
- activists within the Arab American community;
- leadership from other nonprofits;
- business and faith leaders;
- foundation and government representatives; and
- national service program participants
The conference theme of Learn, Adapt, Succeed focuses on adaptive leadership and how nonprofit organizations can position themselves to successfully accomplish their missions, even in the most challenging of times.
Conference highlights include:
- over 10 workshops and panels on topics of importance to nonprofit leaders, with a focus on peer learning:
- a policy forum on issues of importance to the Arab American community:
- nationally recognized keynote speakers;
- opportunities to gather information on “what works” from other nonprofit organizations;
- a Friday afternoon tour of local NNAAC member organizations
- a community dinner Saturday evening at the Hilton-Newark Penn Station; and
- much more.
Conference Locations:
Conference programs will take place at the Paul Robeson Center on the Rutgers University Newark, New Jersey Campus, a short light rail ride from Newark Penn Station. The conference hotel and the sight of the Saturday Community Celebration Dinner is the Hilton Newark Penn Station Hotel, which is connected to Newark Penn Station. Newark Penn Station is connected to the east coast rail system and offers a quick connection to Manhattan and other points in New York City.
The National Network for Arab American Communities is a national network of independent Arab American community-based social service organizations. The Network's primary mission is the development of grassroots institutions that can meet the needs of and represent the concerns of Arab Americans at the local level and collectively raise these concerns on the national stage. The Network is a project of the Arab Community Center for Economic & Social Services (ACCESS).

HOTEL AND AIR TRAVEL
Hilton Hotel – Newark Penn Station, Newark New Jersey
The hotel rate for a limited number of rooms is $119 plus tax for a single or double. After those rooms are gone, the cost goes to market rate. See the web site for information on other area hotels. Lower-rate rooms must be booked by August 25 at 973-622-5000. Mention the group name: “NNAAC.”
The most convenient airport is Newark Liberty International. There is rail service from the airport to Newark Penn Station, which is connected by a walkway directly to the hotel. There is light rale available for the short trip from the hotel to the Rutgers Newark campus.
