Arab-American Association of New York pushes support for Arab Americans in census

The Arab-American Association of New York, a member of the National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC), was recently featured in the news for the organization's public push in support of a new Census category for people from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which includes Arab Americans. 

"In previous Census counts, Arab-Americans have been classified as white. There is also no designation for Arab-Americans under nationalities, where Chinese, Japanese and even Native Hawaiian designations are listed," the article, in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, reads.
