It all started in 2002, when staff from ACCESS in Dearborn, MI began traveling the country to meet with leaders of Arab American community-based organizations to discuss creating a strategic partnership that would strengthen the ability of the Arab American community to work in a collaborative effort. This initiative grew out of a need seen in the post 9/11 backlash faced by the Arab American community, including Arab immigrants and the organizations that serve them.
Today, NNAAC has grown to include 23 member organizations in 11 states. We now offer three comprehensive programs, including Capacity Building, Advocacy and Civic Engagement, and Youth and Community Service.
